Season's Greetings from David & Ella

The Holiday Season is one that can sometimes be difficult to bear. For many, it is a time of much joy and cheer where appreciation for loved ones can be shown through the giving of gifts and time. But for many, it can also be a difficult time where people are constantly reminded about what they don't have, who they don't have or no longer have.

It can be a time of sorrow and self-bitterness as you come to the conclusion that God must have thrown away your prayer request list for the year 2015. It seems like nothing you asked for came your way. Your grades this semester may not have been too hot, your mama has probably been getting on your nerves since you can remember, you didn't find the godly man or woman that you prayed for, and things just don't seem to be working in your favor.

It is in times like these where God wants us to rely on Him all the more. He wants us to see that He's still walking with us and that He was walking with us all throughout the year. Even in the times where we felt alone and neglected, God was still right there. You might have missed Him because He moved so subtly.

He moved through the joyful greeting of your coworker that made you smile on that tough day. He moved through that professor who gave you an extension when you were feeling overwhelmed. He moved through that friend that called you right on time. He moved through your mom as she stayed up late into the morning, praying that no weapon formed against you would prosper. He moved through that significant other who embraces the lifelong duty of putting a genuine smile on your face.

Regardless of how tough things might be for you right now, if you look closely, you'll be sure to find plenty of things to be thankful for that will remind you that your heavenly Father loves you sooo, soo much. Whether His answer to your prayers are yes, no, or not yet, know that God always has your best interest at heart, and you can always rest assured because He knows our best interest more than we do. So just trust Him and be thankful, and receive that joy that He's reserved just for you, as His beloved child.

With love and thanks,

David & Ella
